TERMS & CONDITIONS OF ENTRY
We will only accept entry into one category per film. If multiple entries are made the Festival Organisers will decide which category is most suitable. Judges may reallocate productions to other categories which they deem to be more appropriate. Filmmakers will be notified if this is to be considered.
Once your work is entered it will be viewed for short-listing as soon as possible. All filmmakers who are shortlisted will be notified by 1st June 2012.
Production running time for Short Film entries should be no longer than 15 minutes. Production running time for Newcomer entries should be no longer than 15 minutes. Production running time for Documentary entries should be no longer than 15 minutes. Production running time for Animation entries should be no longer than 15 minutes. Production running time for Music Video entries should be no longer than 15 minutes. Production running time for International entries should be no longer than 15 minutes. Production running time for Pushing Boundaries entries should be no longer than 5 minutes. Production running time for the Long Short entries should be no longer than 30 minutes.
Films should have been made between January 2011 and April 2012.
You are the sole author of, or the absolute legal and beneficial owner of all rights of copyright in the material, free from any right or interest of any third party conditional or otherwise.
You have authority to enter into these arrangements.
Film/Video makers submitting entries for the Newcomers Award must not have previously had a feature film or more than one short film/video broadcast or distributed by a distribution company in the UK or abroad.
Branded Content, Film, TV Title Sequences, TV Idents, Online & Mobile Content are all eligible in the Broadcast Design category.

If your film is chosen to screen in competition, we will request a PAL Beta (either DigiBeta or HDCam or BetaSP) from you. The PAL Beta MUST be available for use by the festival office in April & May 2012.
There are no tape storage facilities at Rushes. Tapes (either DigiBeta or BetaSP) will only be returned if specifically requested at the time of submission, and then a stamped, self addressed envelope must be enclosed. All tapes not marked for return will be recycled after the festival. DVDs will not be returned.
Insurance of tapes is the responsibility of the sender. The Organisers will not take responsibility for any loss or damage to entries.
By submitting your entry you consent to, and have obtained all necessary consents for (and agree to provide copies of the same on request), all or any part of the production being reproduced by the Organisers and/or any other parties authorised by the Organisers and/or broadcast by a third party in any media (e.g. press, television, internet or telephone download), solely in relation to, and in support of, the festival provided that, wherever reasonably possible, the author of the work is given appropriate notification and credit.*
Submissions that do not comply with the terms and conditions detailed on the submission form will be disqualified.
The closing date for all competitive categories is 5th April 2012. Film entries must be received by that date or posted dated no later than 05.04.12. There are no early bird or late entry deadlines.
The judge’s decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into with reference to this issue.
Any alterations or withdrawals from the festival MUST reach us by 4th May AT THE LATEST in order for us to meet judging and print deadlines. No alterations can be made after this date.
*Please note that we will notify you if we intend to curate your work in programmes outside of the festival screenings and you will be given the opportunity to opt out.
