You can enter content for 2011 from 1st January.
You can pre-register for 2011 by creating an account here, then come back and enter as many pieces of work as you wish to (from 1st January.)
Please note, if you already have an account from 2010 you need not pre-register.
Each entry costs £15 (£10 for students), with the exception of the experimental/other category which is free.
The final deadline for entries is 21st April 2011. This entry site will be closed at the end of that day.
Held in London, every July, the event attracts short format work from across the world and is recognised as one of the United Kingdom’s foremost short format champions. Maintaining a significant bridge between the independent and commercial film making communities, the festival annually attracts over 1200 entries from professionals and newcomers alike, with 140 (approx) films selected for competition. Countries entering for RSSF 2010 included Japan, Luxembourg, France, China, Estonia, Argentina, Spain, Mexico, Australia, Iceland, Peru, Germany, Ireland, Slovenia, The Netherlands, UK and the USA.
Competition Categories for RSSF are:
The Short Film Award
For fictional, live action work by experienced filmmakers in the UK and under 12 minutes
The Newcomer Award
For fictional, live action work by new filmmakers in the UK and under 12 minutes
The International Award
For fictional, live action work by filmmakers outside the UK and under 12 minutes
The Long Form Award
For fictional, live action and animated work by filmmakers from around the world which is under 30 minutes
The Documentary Award
For factual work by filmmakers from around the world and under 12 minutes
The Animation Award
For factual and fictional work by filmmakers from around the world and under 12 minutes
The Music Video Award
For music promos by filmmakers from around the world and under 12 minutes
The Broadcast Design Award
For branded content, commercial sequences, spots, title sequences, Idents, digital posters and work specifically designed for multiplatform distribution including the internet and mobile networks by filmmakers from around the world and under 5 minutes
As in recent years, The Experimental/ Other category is free to enter and will be run in conjunction with Tenderpixel Gallery.
Dates for this year’s festival are: 21st to 30th July.
